Jakarta: High-profile graft suspect Nunun Nurbaeti was rushed to Harapan Kita Hospital in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Tuesday morning due to high blood pressure.
“Last night her condition worsened. She will undergo a heart examination,” Mulyaharja, one of Nunun’s lawyers, said on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
The wife of Prosperous Justice Party lawmaker and former deputy police chief Comr. Gen. (ret.) Adang Daradjatun has been hospitalized three times for high blood pressure since her arrest in Thailand in December.
Nunun allegedly distributed Rp 24 billion (US$26.64 million) in bribes to 33 former and current members of House Commission IX before the lawmakers held “fit-and-proper” tests for candidates for a Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor position in 2004.
Miranda S Goeltom, who was eventually appointed to the position, was recently declared a suspect in the vote-buying case by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
