JAKARTA: PT Bank OCBC NISP Tbk (NISP), a publicly-listed domestic bank partly controlled by Chinese lender OCBC, launched two new health insurance products on Tuesday for its customers in partnership with the local flag of Singapore’s the Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd.
The first product, called Max Health, will cover up to Rp 1.5 billion (US$165,000) for hospital treatment throughout Indonesia. The MaxPresitge Care product, designated for OCBC NISP’s premium customers, will cover up to $3.5 million for hospital treatment overseas in Malaysia and Singapore.
“MaxHealth has a stable premium, though it increases with the age of those insured. MaxPrestige Care gives a guaranteed renewable policy without considering the insured’s health conditions in the future if premium payment continues,” GELIndo’s director Yannes Chandra said in a press statement released at the launching ceremony.
OCBC NISP and Great Eastern Life Indonesia (GELI) have targeted a Rp 30 billion to Rp 40 billion premium from the two products throughout 2012.
