Police quiz alleged assailants at Army hospital

Tribunnews.comPolice are questioning three suspected assailants in a deadly brawl at a funeral home in the vicinity of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital on Thursday morning, an official said.

Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Angesta Romano Yoyol said that police had arrested two suspected members of the attacking group.

“We will not disclose their identity for now because we are still investigating the case,” he said.

Separately, Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said that the police were also questioning another person linked to the brawl.

“We are intensively questioning him,” Rikwanto said as quoted by kompas.com.

However the police had yet to name him a suspect in the case, because they were still investigating his role in the brawl.

The deadly fight between two groups of people of Maluku origin broke out at around 2 a.m. when a party of mourners at the hospital’s funeral home was attacked by another group, leaving three dead and several others injured.(iwa)
