Cimahi drummer to represent RI at Musikmesse

Iqbal Maruli, 22, a young drummer from Cimahi, West Java, will represent Indonesia in an international drum competition to be held in March on the sidelines of the 2012 Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany, in March.
He will compete with drummers from 14 countries.
Iqbal had previously won the Mapex Drum Championship at the end of January, ousting dozens of Indonesian drummers.
“The winner of the competition will depart to Germany and represent Indonesia in the competition in March,” Iqbal was quoted as saying by tempo.co on Monday.
The Musikmesse is a musical instrument exhibition consisting of various activities including a music competition to be held from March 21-24.
“I hope you all give me your blessings so that I can give my best for Indonesia,” Iqbal said. (iwa/nvn)
