Lion Air feeder company Wings Air will open a new route between Surabaya and Banyuwangi in March.
“The first flight is scheduled to kick off on March 15,” Banyuwangi’s transportation, communication and information agency head AgusSiswanto said Wednesday as quoted by tempo.co.
Siswanto said that Wings Air would use an ATR 72 aircraft with a capacity of 50 seats. The flight will be available every day departing from Juanda Airport, Surabaya at 9 a.m. and from Banyuwangi Airport at 10 a.m.
Agus said passenger demand for the route was relatively high. Currently, only Merpati Airline flies the route three times a week.(iwa)
