Fauzi, Jokowi lead electability survey

JAKARTA: Gubernatorial candidate pairings, incumbent Fauzi Bowo–Nachrowi Ramli and Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo – Basuki Tjahaja Purnama are being viewed as the most electable pairs, results from a survey have indicated.

A survey held by The Cyrus Network found that 42.4 percent of voters would choose Fauzi’s ticket and 31.8 percent, Jokowi’s.

“Fauzi needs to watch out for Jokowi. Jokowi has been in Jakarta for only a month but he’s already closing in, popularity wise, on Fauzi who has been running the city for five years,” Hasan Nasbi, the organization’s director, said Wednesday. The survey was held from April 8 to 16 with a random sample of 1,000 respondents. The margin of error in the survey is 3.1 percent.
