Director/screenwriter Joko Anwar’s highly anticipated thriller Modus Anomali starring Rio Dewanto made its international premiere in March at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in Austin, Texas. On Thursday, April 26, it premiered in Jakarta, with audiences expecting the twists and turns that have been Joko’s trademark in films such as Kala (Dead Time) and Pintu Terlarang (The Forbidden Door).
“I hope that Modus Anomali will be an entertaining film that gives a different cinematic experience, and viewers will be able to feel the struggle of Rio Dewanto’s character in the movie,” says producer Lala Timothy, who also worked with Joko on Pintu Terlarang. “And that it will provide tension-filled viewing with scary surprises.”
Lala shared images of the making of the movie, which was shot over 10 days in a forest near Bogor.
