Govt to turn May Day into holiday

The Government is in the middle of deliberating to turn the international Labor Day on May 1 as a national holiday, Home Minister Gamawan Fauzi said.

“This is a good idea because about 80 countries worldwide have named May 1 as a national holiday. However, we need additional studies to support it,” Gamawan told reporters at the Presidential Office on Monday.

“The President has heard the proposal and he has asked us to conduct a feasibility study,” he added.(dic)
