Inflation stood at 0.21% in April: BPS

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) says that the month of April saw price inflation of 0.21 percent, mainly driven by food and tobacco price rises.
"On a year-on-year basis, April 2012 inflation stood at 4.5 percent," BPS head Suryamin said on Tuesday.
In total, the country's inflation from January to April 2012 stood at 1.09 percent.
BPS conducted its survey in 66 cities, 52 of which witnessed inflation during April.
"The highest inflation was in Pangkal Pinang and Manado with 1.76 percent and 1.63 percent respectively," Suryamin said.
