German airline Lufthansa reports Q1 loss

German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG says it made a loss of (euro) 397 million ($521.3 million) during the first quarter.
Lufthansa says it was unable to offset costs, particularly for fuel, with additional revenue during the quarter.
The airline reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of (euro) 507 million in the same period last year.
Lufthansa released the figures Wednesday ahead of its full earnings report Thursday.
