2 killed in Transjakarta bus crash

Two people are dead after their motorcycle fell into the path of a Transjakarta bus on Jl. Raya Maj. Gen. Sutoyo in Kramatjati, East Jakarta, on Sunday afternoon.
Alip Sumpeno, 52 and Sugimo, 45, died instantly in the crash.
Witnesses said they riding on a black Yamaha Mio motorcycle when they collided with another motorcycle at 3 p.m.
They then fell into a busway, where a bus serving the Cililitan-Tanjungpriok route ran them over.
Their bodies were taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for autopsies.
An officer with East Jakarta Police traffic unit, Brig. Sujiantoro, attributed the fatal accident to careless riding on the part of the dead.
“We've gathered statements from several eyewitnesses and found that the accident was triggered by the biker's carelessness, as the biker had been seen riding at a high speed,” Sujiantoro said, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
“However, we are also questioning the Transjakarta bus driver regarding this accident.” (dmr)
