Comments: ‘First Lady the most qualified’

A senior Democratic Party politician claims First Lady Ani Yudhoyono is the most qualified potential candidate for the 2014 presidential election.

Hayono Isman, a member of the party’s board of patrons, said Sunday evening that Ani, the wife of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, had more experience than any other potential candidate. Yudhoyono is the party’s founder.

“She has been supporting the President as the First Lady. She also has experience as one of the party’s officials. In fact, she used to be the party’s vice chairwoman,” Hayono said.

I do not want to disrespect her, but this must be a big joke.

There are many Indonesians who are far more capable and qualified than her.

The people have the right to choose! Wake up Indonesians. We are no longer a colonized country.

There is no point to this debate — after the failure of the Democrats to provide good governance, combined with the ineffectiveness of the incumbent President, it is highly unlikely they will retain power in the next elections.

The only thing that may help is the fact that other parties seem to have no credible candidates.
