Aceh boasts 99.22% exam pass-rate

The National Examination pass-rate in Aceh reached 99.22 percent this year, accounting for 66,812 students from schools across the region.

The rate exceeded last year’s 99.13 percent, Antara news agency reported on Thursday.

The number of students who failed is 475.

Aceh education agency head Bachtiar Ishak said the increasing success rates reflected the increased familiarization by local administrators with schools across the region.

Administrators said they also increased study times for the National Examinations.

Exam inspector Yusrizal from Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh said that this year's exams were better run compared to previous years.

"Security was so tight that any exam leaks were impossible," Yusrizal said. (png)
