An Indonesian maid sustained injuries to her head and other parts of her body after fighting with three armed men who allegedly tried to kidnap her employer’s child in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The identity of the 38-year-old maid remains unknown.
The incident took place in Persiaran Desa Park on Friday at around 7:20 a.m. local time (6:20a.m. Jakarta time), when the maid was in front of the house and a green Proton Wira car stopped by, Antara news agency reported from Kuala Lumpur, quoting Harian Metro daily.
“A man in his 30s got out of the car and pretended to ask for a direction,” said a source as quoted by the daily.
The man suddenly grabbed the victim’s clothes and choked her while laying a machete on her neck. The two other men immediately got off the car and took her employer’s six-year-old child inside the car.
The maid fought back.
“The maid’s strong screams made neighbors rush out and help,” the source said.
The three men, who were shocked by the sudden appearance of the residents, immediately ran off with a cell phone and other items they snatched from the maid.
The maid and her employer reported the incident to the Brickfields Police. (mtq)
