Bogor: Two security guards were shot dead by two thieves who attempted to steal a motorcycle at the parking area of the Al’Hurriyah mosque at the Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB) in West Java on Friday.
The victims are a 40-year-old campus security coordinator, Bonar Supriatna, and a security officer, Suhardi, 42.
Another security officer, Edi Suherdi, said that the incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Both victims saw two people suspiciously fiddling with a black Repsol motorbike that belonged to a student.
Bonar tried to ask them what they were doing but got no answer. After awhile, a fight broke out and suddenly Edi heard gunshots.
The suspects managed to escape but were forced to leave the motorbike.
Darmaga sector police head Adj. Comr. Fahyuni said that the police were still investigating the case. “We don’t know the modus operandi yet and we haven’t also found the bullets,” she said.
