Tokyo Skytree Town visitors top 1 million

The world's tallest tower and Japan's biggest new landmark opened to the public on Tuesday.(AP)The number of visitors to the Tokyo Skytree tower and surrounding facilities has topped 1 million in the five days since their Tuesday opening, main operator Tobu Railway Co. said Sunday.

About 1,132,000 people have visited the Tokyo Skytree Town commercial complex, including a record of about 272,000 on Saturday, the company said.

Tobu expects about 32 million people to visit the complex in its first year.
