Letter to the editor: Clarification from Iranian Embassy
The Jakarta Post | Opinion | Thu, May 31 2012, 9:10 AM
I am writing this letter to bring to your kind attention yet another false statement made by The Jakarta Post in the article entitled “Flirtatious migrant workers to blame for abuse: Govt task force” published in Wednesday’s edition (May 30, 2012) concerning the death sentence handed down to Indonesian migrant workers in Iran.
Throughout the history of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Indonesia, there has been no death sentence handed down to any Indonesian or Iranian citizens.
So far, all negative and biased news published in your daily newspaper has been quoted from Western media, but this time it appears clearly from the aforementioned article, this sort of news input is from The Jakarta Post itself.
For your further information, there has been no death sentence handed down by the Iranian government to Indonesians as claimed in the statement (Govt Migrant Workers Task Force) published in The Jakarta Post because there are no Indonesian migrant workers in Iran and hereby the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran demands your immediate response and clarification to be published in your daily.
