Letter to the editor: Clarification from PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia

A- A A+

We have noticed that in The Jakarta Post, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 edition, on World Business section (page III) there is an article titled “Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Faces Insider Trading Investigation” with a picture attached depicting a lady preparing to open a door with an SMBC logo.

We, PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia, as a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Indonesia, officially object to this accompanying picture.

SMBC does not have any relationship with Sumitomo Mitsui Trust and is a completely different company.

Hence, we would like The Jakarta Post to:

— Give clarification on placing the picture with the SMBC logo.

— Publish a formal apology to SMBC and PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia with a correction article immediately.

Thank you very much for your kind attention.
