The police have arrested three suspects from last Friday's shooting of two security officers at the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) in Bogor, West Java.
A joint team between the West Java Provincial Police and Bogor Police captured the three suspects on Wednesday evening at Cibatu village, Cikambar subdistrict, Sukabumi, West Java, according to West Java Police spokesman, Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul.
“We arrested them on Wednesday at around 6 p.m.,” Martinus said as quoted by Metro TV.
He added that the police also confiscated two guns and four modified key locks from the suspects.
Two security officers at the IPB’s Al-Hurriyah Mosque were fatally shot during Friday prayers after a fight with armed men who were trying to steal a parked motorcycle.
The two officers, Supriatna, 44, and Suhardi, 46, immediately confronted the suspects but one of the thieves pulled out a gun and fired four shots, killing Supriatna instantly.
Suhardi was rushed to the Karya Bhakti Bogor Hospital but succumbed to his wounds. (asa)
