JAKARTA: Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Untung S Radjab says that the police will act against the officers who allegedly beat a subordinate for reporting them for narcotics use.

Earlier this week, Brig. Rahmat Leburaya from the Pulo Gadung precinct alleged that he was beaten by his superiors Chief Brig. S and First Brig. K at a police training center in Cikarang, Bekasi.

The incident occurred after Rahmat completed a urine test that revealed that he used drugs.

An upset Rahmat recommended that S and K also be required to undergo the same tests, which also came up positive, the police said.

The police would soon investigate, according to Untung.

“They will soon be given warnings. They can also be fired if they do not change their behavior,” he said.

Rahmat is currently under treatment at Bhayangkara Police Hospital in East Jakarta.
