The city police said that in commemoration of the National Police’s 66th birthday on July 1, they would offer driver’s licenses and vehicle registration extension services on Saturday evenings at various outlets throughout Jakarta in June.
“This is part of our continuous attempt to offer better public services to all Jakartans. The extension service itself will be opened on Saturdays from 8 a.m.to 8:30 p.m.,” city traffic police deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wahyono told reporters.
The police will open five outlets, one in each of the city’s municipalities. The South Jakarta outlet will be located at the Kalibata Police post and the West Jakarta outlet at the Mega Glodok Kemayoran business center.
The Central Jakarta outlet will be opened at Lapangan Banteng on June 2 and June 16 and at Pasar Baru on June 9 and June 23.
The North Jakarta outlet will be at Jembatan Tiga police post on June 2 and June 16 and at Graha Gapemri Kelapa Gading on the other two Saturdays.
The East Jakarta outlet will be at Tamini Square on June 2 and June 9 and at Cibubur Junction on the following two Saturdays.
Previously such services were only available during the daytime: usually from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on weekends.(iwa)
