Thousands of school children pledge to save environment

As many as 7,743 school children from 50 schools in Greater Jakarta have become part of “Kidz for a Greener World” – a global campaign to fight for environmental causes.
The campaign, which involves more than 45,000 students from 50 countries, attempts to educate the young about the need for environmental awareness, tribunnews.com reported on Tuesday.
The campaign's "Greener World Pledge" collects online signatures from students all around the world that show their commitment to defending the environment.
Participants in the campaign are also encouraged to share their ideas on how to create a greener Earth.
Children joining the campaign come from places as far and wide as Mexico, Malaysia, Portugal and the Philippines. (png/mtq)
