First Lady flies to US for medical treatment

First Lady Ani Yudhoyono, accompanied by son Edhie “Ibas” Baskoro Yudhoyono and the head of the presidential medical team Dr Aris Wibudi, flew to the US on Tuesday for medical treatment.
Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said in Jakarta that the First Lady had flown using a commercial flight.
“The First Lady wanted to be treated in Indonesia, but the presidential team of doctors recommended she get medical treatment [in the US] so she agreed,” Julian said as quoted by kompas.com.
Previously, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said that Ibu Ani had to be treated due to a nerve problem in her neck.
The First Lady will be treated in a Pittsburg hospital. (swd)
