Menara, Emerio, APC & Senayan victorious at JCA T20

The opening week of the Apple Coal JCA T20 League 2011-12 saw the Menara Devils, Emerio Dragons and Senayan Lions put up convincing wins on Sunday, while APC United just managed to scrape through.

In the morning game at Gandhi ground, Menara crushed home team Gandhi Perkasa by 8 wickets. Unbeaten knocks by Neetesh Pansare (68 of 54 balls) and Mahesh Thadani (42 of 26 balls), and a classy 38 of 25 balls by Rahul Thukral helped Menara reach 158 runs in 18.4 overs, losing just 2 wickets, in reply to Gandhi’s score of 154/6 in 20 overs. Earlier, a blistering knock of 83 not out by Sai was the highlight of Gandhi’s batting. Neetesh and Mahesh shared the man of the match award.

In the afternoon match at the same ground, Emerio Dragons decimated Gandhi Satria by 120 runs. Emerio piled up a huge score of 200/3 in 20 overs, with man of the match Viraaj Bhammer smashing an unbeaten 119 runs. Gandhi were all out for 80 runs.

In the morning session at Cibubur, APC managed to defeat TKCC Royals by 4 wickets in a closely fought match. Put in to bat first, Royals made 125/7 in 20 overs. APC achieved their victory in the 19th over, losing 6 wickets, with Sohail remaining unbeaten with a match-winning 56 runs.

In the afternoon session at Cibubur, the Senayan Lions comfortably beat Challenger Super Kings by 8 wickets. Batting first, Challengers found the going tough and put up a subpar score of 96 runs. Senayan romped home victorious in 14 overs, losing just 2 wickets. Amar Kapadia made 48 not out.
