Palu to receive waste-processing machine from Sweden next year

The local administration in Boras, Sweden was due to send a waste-processing machine, along with technical experts, to Palu, Central Sulawesi by 2013, said Palu’s Deputy Mayor Andi Mulhanan Tombolotutu.
The machine would be able to process waste into methane biogas that could be used to generate power, he said Tuesday.
The Palu administration will pay Rp 5 billion (US$530,000) for both the machine, which is priced at Rp 7.5 billion, and technical assistance, while the Boras administration will cover the remaining Rp 2.5 billion.
“The budget also includes follow-up services in the transfer of knowledge by Sweden’s experts in Boras,” Mulhanan added. (mtq)
