Radio Netherlands says ‘dag’

J

akarta: The Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) will say dag, or farewell, when it ends its Indonesian and English-language broadcast services on June 29.

RNW announced on its website on Thursday that the measures were a result of steep budget cuts imposed by the Dutch government.

Once RNW’s English-language web stream ends on June 29, the network will no longer provide daily reviews of Dutch newspapers, coverage of Dutch news stories and listening guides, the website said.

Service will conclude on June 29 with a three-hour live broadcast from
5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The station is encouraging its listeners to submit their comments and memories of its broadcasts to letters@rnw.nl. (/iwa)
