Victories for Menara, APC, Senayan

JAKARTA: The second week of the Apple Coal JCA T20 League 2011-12 saw the Menara Devils, APC United and the Senayan Lions put up convincing wins, while Gandhi Satria clinched a close match.
In the morning game at Cibubur this weekend, the Menara Devils recorded their second consecutive win by thrashing the Ceylon Warriors by 8 wickets. A career best 6 wickets by Harshad Bhat demolished Ceylon, which made 126/9 in 20 overs. Geoff Polonnowita scored 47 runs. Unbeaten knocks by Neetesh Pansare (48) and Gaurav Tiwari (44) saw Menara make 130/2 in 15 overs.
In the afternoon match at the same ground, APC United also recorded their second consecutive win by beating PCI Garudas by 5 wickets. PCI were bowled out for 87 runs, with Sohail picking up 4 wickets. For Garudas, Andre Siahaan made 31 runs. APC reached victory in 15 overs losing 5 wickets. Toby Nugesnt scored 34 runs.
In the morning session at Gandhi grounds, the Senayan Lions thrashed the Jakarta Durians by 65 runs. Batting first, Senayan amassed 198/4 in 20 overs, with Prem Subramanian as the top scorer with 62 runs. In reply, Durians made 133/9. Ashit Mehta claimed 2 wickets.
In the afternoon session at Gandhi grounds, Gandhi Satria pulled off a thrilling 9 run victory over the WPP Wizards. Sent in to bat first, Gandhi Satria made 158/7 in 20 overs. Shubham Patni scored 28 runs, while Shubho Sarkar took 3 wickets. The Wizards were all out for 149, with Suresh Subramanian scoring 34 runs. Lakshay Arora took 2 wickets.
“Twelve teams are participating in this tournament with two groups of 6 teams each. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals,” said JCA President Suresh Subramanian.
