DEPOK: The Depok municipal administration filed a report with police over the closure of state elementary school SDN Leuwinanggung 01 on Tuesday, kompas.com reported.

“The school closure by the person who claimed to be the rightful owner of the land disrupted the school’s activities,” said school principal Oneng Ningsih.

Ownership of the school’s land is under dispute, with the family members of one resident, identified as Kasim, claimed they had not yet sold the land to the administration. Depok Education Agency chief Asep Rahmat said the case should be brought to the court instead of sealing the school.

“We would find an amicable solution to let the children study at the school again,” he said, adding that the students had to study in neighboring houses.
