Koes Bersaudara to play this weekend

JAKARTA: Legendary group Koes Bersaudara is scheduled to hold its 50th anniversary concert this Saturday.
The show is slated to be held for 10 hours at the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah amusement park.

“This is pure entertainment from the Koeswojo family for the people in the archipelago,” Yok Koeswojo from the group said on Tuesday in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara News.

Koes Bersaudara is composed of members of Koewojo’s family. However, in 1969, it changed its name to Koes Plus after a member chose to exit the group and was replaced by Murry, who was not a member of the family.

Agus Susanta Giri, head of the concert committee, said Yok and Nomo Koeswojo would perform at the concert. However, he said the remaining performers were to be kept secret.

The concert, titled “Hiburan Rakyat Nusantara”, will involve 11 groups that have been playing Koes Bersaudara and Koes Plus songs.
