JAKARTA: Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU Jakarta) said it was ready to face legal proceedings should the Jakarta Police decide to pursue a report against the poll body over accusations of voters’ list manipulation.

“We are ready to face it. We believe we had accommodated all protests and responded according to regulations,” KPU Jakarta chairperson Dahliah Umar said Tuesday.

Dahliah said the election office had been transparent during the voters’ list drafting process. “We will wait for the police’s move,” she said.

On Monday, lawyers representing four candidate pairs for the upcoming gubernatorial election reported KPU Jakarta commissioners and the civil registration agency to the police for document forgery and modifying civil administration data.
