The South Korean singer Jo Sung-Hyun, better known as Eru (pronounced: Iru), said he went on a diet and lost 20 kilograms for his small role in the Indonesian movie ‘Hello Goodbye’.

“I only ate chicken breast and eggs for three months,” said the 28-year-old ballad singer.

He said the producer actually did not specifically request him to go on a diet, but when he went for a camera test for the movie and discussed the result with the producer, he told him to lose a little weight.

The New York born Eru played a street singer in the movie in which he starred alongside Indonesian actors Atiqah Hasiholan and Rio Dewanto.

His hit song ‘Black Glasses’ was also chosen as the movie soundtrack.

He said he changed the song’s arrangement a little and sang the English version for the movie, which will be released in Indonesia in November.

The movie marked his comeback to the entertainment industry after finishing his mandatory military service in 2010.

Eru is on a nine-day visit in Jakarta to promote the movie.

During his visit to Jakarta he said he had tried many Indonesian dishes including sate, soto ayam and karedok.

"I have no problem with Indonesian food since I like spicy food," he said.
