One of the independent pairs in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Faisal Basri and his running mate Biem Benyamin, paid a visit to Manggarai Train Station on the first full day of campaigning on Monday.
During the visit, Faisal said he would focus on the improvement of train services so that passengers could feel comfortable using mass transportation.
“That’s the obligation of the administration – to provide comfortable and safe train services,” Faisal said on Monday as quoted by tempo.co.
He criticized the administration for being indifferent to trains as a component of mass public transportation and focusing instead on other public transportation projects.
“Money from those projects was mostly enjoyed for its own benefit,” Faisal said on Monday as quoted by tempo.co.
Therefore, he promised if elected he would help state train operator PT Kereta Api to provide better services and develop better parking lots, more parks, and renovate traffic management around train stations. (iwa)
