Emerio, Ceylon, PCI, Challengers victorious

One sided victories were the order of the day during the third week of the Apple Coal JCA T20 League 2011-2012, with all four teams — Emerio Dragons, Ceylon Warriors, Challengers Super Kings and PCI Garudas registering convincing victories.
In the morning game at Cibubur, Emerio defeated the WPP Wizards by 59 runs. Put in to bat first, Emerio made 163/8 in 20 overs, with Viraj Bhammar making 33 and Katta making unbeaten 27 runs. Vino picked up 3 wickets for 29 runs.
In reply, the Wizards could make only 104/6, with Vishal Mehta making 19 runs. David Surjit and Nagraj Bitla took 2 wickets each.
In the second game at the same venue, the Ceylon Warriors defeated Gandhi Perkasa by 44 runs. Hanan Khalid blasted 82 runs to help Ceylon put up 168/8 in 20 overs. Amit Sethi and Ashwin Sunder picked up 3 wickets each.
Gandhi Perkasa ended up at 126/9 in 20 overs with both Sandeep Gaur and Mohit Singh making 30 runs each. Pushpakumara took 4 wickets.
In the opening game at GMIS grounds, local Eki Anaria’s all round performance lead PCI to an incredible 86 runs victory over favorites TKCC Royals.
Batting first, PCI made 139/8 in 20 overs, with Eki making 37 runs. Sathesh and Anandalwar took 2 wickets each. TKCC collapsed to 53 all out, with Eki picking up 4 wickets.
In the afternoon game at the same ground, the Challengers thrashed the Jakarta Durians by 7 wickets. Sent in to bat first, the Durians were all out for 143 runs in 20 overs. Pat Savina was the top scorer with 50 runs. Sunil Samtani took 2 wickets for 17 runs.
The Challengers reached the victory target in 16 overs with Satinder Minhas remaining unbeaten on 53 runs. Sunil Samtani also chipped in with 37 runs.
“Menara and APC top Group A, while Emerio and Senayan top Group B. Top 2 teams from each group will qualify for semifinals. There are 12 teams participating with six teams in each group,” said JCA Treasurer Dhiraj Nagpal.
