KUPANG: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit East Sumba regency on his way back from his Australia tour, according to the regent.
The President, accompanied by First Lady Ani Yudhoyono and their entourage are scheduled to arrive at Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport in Waingapu on Wednesday for a two-day visit.
“The President will arrive on Wednesday afternoon. We have several programs on the President’s agenda including his visit to a cattle farm as well as schools and puskesmas [community health centers],” East Sumba Regent Gidion Mbilijora said on Monday.
The President is said to be staying at the regent’s official house while entourage members will stay at the deputy regent’s and hostels.
“Hotels in Waingapu do not meet the VVIP standard, so we have provided the regent’s official house for his retreat,” he said.
The President left for Darwin on Monday to attend the second Indonesia-Australia Annual Leader’s Meeting.
