Twelve Jambi City Police officers were dismissed in the first half of the year for serious offenses, according to the police office.

City police spokesman AKBP Almansyah said the 12 officers had tarnished the force’s reputation.

Almansyah, however, declined to release the names of the offending officers. Apart from the dismissals, 13 police officers have been tried in court for various crimes, while another four have faced ethics hearings.

The police also announced that 83 officers had been sanctioned for indisciplined conduct.

“We sanction officers who break the law, depending on the extent of the violation,” said Almansyah.
