Despite her status as a Tangerang resident rendering her ineligible to vote in the Jakarta gubernatorial elections, jazz singer Syaharani still has her own views on the candidates.
She said, for example, that the candidates’ slogans are still too vague for her to comprehend.
“Many in Jakarta feel uncomfortable about the floods and traffic congestion. Several [candidates] have the willpower but, in my opinion, [the candidates] are asking for blessings that there will be no congestion in the future.”
“That means they have willpower only, which is not the same as saying that they are up to the task [of reducing congestion]. They merely ask for blessings without any programs,” Syaharani said Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
The 40-year-old singer has released four albums and has set up her own band, Syaharani and Queenfireworks.
