The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the immigration office to place a travel ban on businesswoman Siti Hartati Murdaya for her alleged involvement in a graft case.
Djoni Muhammad, an official with the immigration directorate, confirmed the report, saying the travel ban had been effective since Tuesday.
It was earlier reported that KPK investigators had arrested Anshori, who is known to be a manager with palm oil plantation firm PT Hardaya Inti Plantation, belonging to Hartati.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi said the antigraft body had also asked the immigration office to slap a travel ban on four other people, including Anshori and Buol regent Amran Batipulu.
Hartati, who was once listed as one of Asia’s 50 most powerful businesswomen by Forbes, was said to have played a role in a bribery case surrounding the issuance of a permit for her plantation company to operate in Buol, Central Sulawesi. Anshori and Amran had been declared suspects in the case.
