The local health agency announced on Thursday that it has set up 10 in-patient facilities at district-level public healthcare centers (puskesmas) across the capital.
“Our target is to construct in-patient facilities at 22 district-level health centers this year,” Jakarta Health Agency chief Dien Emmawati said.
The new facilities, which are equivalent to those in so-called economy-class hospitals, were aimed at providing better healthcare access to poor people in the city, Dien said. The agency is targeting to build in-patient facilities at all 44 district-level public health centers.
