Erafone, Google establish Android-operated phone shop

Mobile communication device retailer PT Erafone Artha Retailindo, a subsidirary of PT Erajaya Swasembada, and Google Inc. have jointly established AndroidNation, an Android-operated mobile phone retailer.
Located in Senayan City shopping centre in Jakarta, the first AndroidNation outlet sits on 123 square meters area.
Starting this Saturday, AndroidNation will offer seven cell phone brands, namely Samsung, Sony Mobile, HTC, LG, Motorola, Acer and Dell.
Erajaya business development director Jeremy Sim said the establishment cost US$200,000. “The budget entirely comes from Erajaya,” he said on Friday, as quoted by kontan.co.id.
“We will assess the outlet over the next three months. If we get generates a positive vibe, we may open two more branches in Surabaya and Jakarta,”
Currently, Erafone has 326 outlets and aims to have 70 new outlets by the year end.
Erafone booked Rp 1.03 trillion in revenues last year, representing 15 percent of its parent company’s revenues of Rp 6.9 trillion. (yps/iwa)
