Two dead in train accident in Kemayoran

A motorcycle taxi driver and his passenger died after their vehicle was hit by a passing train at a railway crossing in Jl. Angkasa, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Friday.

Central Jakarta traffic division head Adj. Comr. Antoni Wijaya said that the driver, identified as Fitriadi, who was carrying Margitri Lestari, a 34-year-old member of staff at the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, was passing through the closing railway bar when a commuter train serving the Jakarta-Bogor route slammed into his bike, sending 10 meters into the air

“The accident occurred at 4:45 a.m.,” said Antoni as quoted by beritajakarta.com, adding that the victims were immediately taken to Mitra Kemayoran Hospital where they later died from their injuries.
