PASURUAN, East Java: Indian golfer Sujjan Singh emerged as the winner of the fifth Asian Development Tour (ADT) at the Taman Dayu Golf Club and Resort in Pasuruan, East Java, on Saturday.

In the four-day tournament, Singh carded a 22-under-par 266, picking up the trophy and a purse of US$13,125.

Michael Moore of Australia finished second, shooting a 16-under 272, followed by Antonio Lascuna of the Philippines in third and Anthony Choat in fourth.

The home contingent had Rory Hidayat to thank for breaking into the top ten. His 13-under stroke earned him a fifth-place finish and a $3,037 share of the prize money.

Singh dedicated his victory to his newborn daughter, Serena, and to his sisters.

The event featured 114 participants from 22 countries and had a total of $75,000 up for grabs.

The executive assistant manager of the Taman Dayu Golf Club and
Resort, Mifto Hadi, said that the fairway would host the Asian Tour in August next year. “Hopefully, the tournament will have a positive impact on sports as well as tourism development in East Java, given the fact that hundreds of golfers are coming,” he said.
