Gandhi Perkasa, Durians, WPP and Menara win

The fifth week of the Apple Coal JCA T20 League 2011-2012 was highlighted with upsets, which saw favorites APC United, Emerio Dragons and Senayan Lions all lose their matches, while the Menara Devils registered their third straight win.
In the morning game at Cibubur, Gandhi Perkasa thrashed APC by 7 wickets. Sending in to bat first, APC was out for 110 runs, with Gaurav Pathak taking 3/22 and Imran 2/12.
William Noronha (30) and Surendra (28) were the leading scorers for APC. Gandhi reached the victory target in the 15th over, losing just 3 wickets. Arjun Chauhan remained unbeaten with 41 runs. Nitin Joshi made 23 runs.
In the afternoon game at the same venue, the Jakarta Durians easily disposed of Emerio by 7 wickets, with Gordon Jones making 46 runs and Marten Eddy unbeaten on 43. Electing to bat first, Emerio made 133/6 with Viraaj Bhammar, the top scorer with 76 runs. Amritava Mishra took 2 wickets.
In the morning game at Gandhi grounds, the WPP Wizards shocked Senayan by 4 wickets. Batting first, Senayan made 125/9 in 20 overs. Jimmy Bhai made 30 runs. Ed Thesiger took 3 wickets. WPP reached the victory target in the last over. Robin made 40 runs while Ashit Mehta and Javed Ansari picked up two wickets apiece.
In the afternoon game, the Menara Devils came up with another clinical performance to beat TKCC Royals by 6 wickets.
Batting first, TKCC found the going difficult against the left arm swing of Rikesh Parikh, who took 2 wickets for 10 runs. TKCC ended up at 150/7, with Jimmy making valiant 55 runs. Menara reached the victory target in 17 overs, with Mahesh Thadani making 40 runs and Deepak Khullar remaining unbeaten on 25 runs.
“Menara is leading Group A with 18 points, followed by Ceylon and APC with 12 points each. The semifinals will see a clash of top the two teams from Group A against the top two teams from Group B – Senayan and Emerio,” JCA Committee member Randy Rackerman said.
