The police confirmed on Friday that they had arrested two men for beating a taxi driver to death, reportedly because the driver had bumped into their motorcycle while driving.
“The two men have been charged with fatal assault, as stipulated under Article 351 of the Criminal Code.
They face up to seven years’ imprisonment,” Jakarta police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto told reporters on Friday.
Your comments:
The majority of the motorcycle drivers in this country — or in Jakarta — have no respect at all for other people who walk or who drive cars. They disregard traffic laws. There will be no change for the better. It is accepted here.

Indonesia is getting scarier by the day. This is a symptom of very frustrated and depressed people. Indonesia badly needs a miracle. Nothing worldly or human can help the nation anymore.
Leaders are corrupt and heartless. Ordinary folks are helpless and depressed.
Some become gangsters and terrorize fellow citizens. The world is watching and losing respect for Indonesia.

The police will not react, and however the police perform, our president is just very happy with the National Police chief.

What is it with mass organizations and bike gangs murdering others in the streets over trivial things? Do they really feel a sense of accomplishment after the killings?

Isn’t “fatal assault” the same as murder? Seven years is very light punishment for deliberately taking someone’s life.
