In addition to six new malls this year, Jakarta will have a further six malls by 2014, stated property consultant Colliers International on Thursday.
“Even though this year we will have six new malls, developers are still bullish in building more new shopping centers,” Colliers director research Ferry Salanto said in Jakarta, as quoted by kontan.co.id.
This year, four malls will complete their expansion projects including Menteng Square in Central Jakarta and Pondok Indah Mall Street Gallery in South Jakarta.
The city will also have two new malls, namely Pulomas X'venture in East Jakarta and Kota Kasablanka in South Jakarta, tribunnews.com reported.
By year end, Jakarta will retain its title as the city with the most malls in the country, with 75 malls.
Three malls are set to commence operation in 2013, they are Cipinang Indah Mall in East Jakarta; the Baywalk @Green Bay Pluit in West Jakarta and St Moritz in West Jakarta.
In 2014, Jakartans will have three more shopping havens, namely Mall @The City Center in Central Jakarta; the Gateway in East Jakarta and Pantai Indah Kapuk Mall in North Jakarta. (yps)
