City to get Porsche and Ferrari cabs

Jakartans will soon be able to enjoy a luxurious ride in Porsche and Ferrari cabs to venture across the capital’s congested thoroughfares.

On Saturday afternoon, a yellow Ferrari 360 Medona cab and a yellow Porsche Boxter S cab were spotted at the Bung Karno Sports Complex in South Jakarta. The cabs’ drivers were test driving the cabs there, kompas.com reported.

However, the drivers declined to comment on the luxury cabs.

“I am sorry, I can’t disclose any information about this cab before it is launched at EX mall in Central Jakarta on July 18,” the driver said.

The flag fall on the luxury ride will be Rp 100,000 (US$ 10.60), the driver said.

However, he said, free rides will be on offer before the launch.

People who want to try out the cabs can try their luck at several pick-up points at malls and shopping centers in Jakarta, such as Gandaria City, Pondok Indah Mall, Senayan City, SCBD, Cilandak Town Square, Mall Taman Anggrek, Central Park, RCTI, Grand Indonesia, Plaza Ex, Wisma Nusantara, Mall Kelapa Gading, Mega Kuningan, Pasar Festival, Mall Ambassador and Plaza Semanggi.
