IBO featherweight champion Daud Yordan is expected to defend his title for the first time early October, according to his manager.

“We can’t mention any names yet because things could still change, but he may be from England,” Wahju Prasetyo, the project manager of Mahkota Promotion, said on Tuesday in Semarang, Central Java, as quoted by Antara.

No date has been specifically mentioned, although the manager predicted that the contest time would be around the end of September or early October. The venue is not fixed either but Singapore, according to Wahju, is the most likely choice.

“Everything may change but our preference is Singapore,” he said.

Daud Yordan coach Damianus Yordan said that the boxer was in the initial stages preparation for the bout after his wedding ceremony.

“We still have to find sparring partner for a month-long training regime,” he said.

Daud won the IBO championship after knocking out Lorenzo Villanueva of the Philippines in second round in Singapore on May 5.
