The city police’s traffic directorate said on Tuesday that they had questioned two witnesses of the Transjakarta bus accident on Friday that killed 10-year-old Adam Soki on Jl. Warung Buncit, South Jakarta.
“The two witnesses were both ojek [motorcycle taxi] drivers working in the area.
“They had talked with the victim shortly before his death,” directorate deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Wahyono told reporters.
According to him, police plan to question two other witnesses in the case, both of whom were passengers on the Transjakarta bus.
“We are still trying to find out if it was the bus driver’s carelessness that caused the accident. The bus driver himself is still being questioned,” he said.
Adam was hit by a bus serving the Dukuh Atas–Ragunan route while he was crossing the road at 11:35 a.m. on Friday. He died on impact.
A witness said that the boy was trying to catch up to his mother, who had crossed the road ahead of him, when the fatal accident occurred.
