Police say they have arrested a 14-year-old boy for the brutal murder of a father and son at their home in Bogor, West Java.

“We have charged the suspect with murder and felony theft under the KUHP [Criminal Code]. He may face up to 15 years’ imprisonment,” Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Thursday.

The boy, identified only as AD, was arrested at his parents’ home in Depok, West Java, at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday with the consent of his parents, Rikwanto said.

Another suspect in the case, D, 24, was still at large, police said.

Rikwanto added that officers were still interrogating AD as of Thursday evening.

Local media reported that Jordan Raturomon, 50, and his son Edward, 22, were found dead at their residence in Bojong Gede, which lies on the border of Bogor and Depok, at Wednesday noon.

Edward’s sister, Kezia Raturomon, 13, reportedly found her brother and father’s dead bodies in the bathroom after returning home from school.

The police said that both victims were struck in the head with blunt weapons, had their throats slashed and were dragged into the bathroom.

Kezia told detectives that a motorbike, jewelry and Rp 10 million (US$1,060) had also apparent been stolen.
