MNC SkyVision books Rp1.1t in revenue in H1 2012
PT MNC SkyVision (MSKY), Indonesia’s largest pay-TV provider, recorded Rp 1.1 trillion (US$116.6 million) in revenue in the first half of this year, a 36-percent surge from Rp 814 billion in the same period last year, the company stated in a press release on Friday.
Sky Vision attributed the growth to a 40 percent increase in subscribers, from 1 million subscribers in the first half of last year to 1.4 million subscribers this year.
The company estimates it will have 1.6 million subscribers by the end of this year.
In the first six months of the year, the firm’s EBITDA (earnings before tax, depreciation and amortization) stood at Rp 461 billion, from Rp 342 billion during the first half of last year.
MSKY president director, Rudy Tanoesoedibjo, was upbeat about keeping pace by improving the firm’s infrastructure.
“Supported by our plan to establish more branch offices, from 58 branches to 80, we are confident we can achieve higher subscriber growth and deliver better services,” he stated in the press release.
From its debut trading on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) on July 6, MSKY stocks had risen from Rp 1,530 apiece to Rp 1,640 apiece by Friday's close. (yps/iwa)
