JAKARTA: Speaker of the House of Representatives Marzuki Alie is blaming the executive branch of the government for the rampant corruption in the country, denying that the legislative branch of government has been contributing to the problem.
“This is because the House, as a legislative institution, controls the budgetary rights. If there’s a graft case involving House members, it must also involve the executive. I can give you a 100-percent guarantee that if there’s no conspiracy between the House and the executive, there will be no corruption,” Marzuki said as quoted by kompas.com.
